Attendance Policie

  • Attend all 12 classes scheduled in the batch to meet the attendance requirement at The Clef School.
  • In the case of a missed class, a make-up class will be arranged following The Clef School's Make-up Class Policy.
  • If a student is absent for more than two classes without prior email notification to The Clef School, their enrollment in the batch will be terminated.
  • Rejoining the same course is permissible within a specified window of 30 days from the student's last attended class at The Clef School; failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the entire batch
  • Upon rejoining within the 30-day timeframe, The Clef School reserves the right to assign a different teacher or time slot to the student.
  • To resume participation in the batch, the student is required to purchase add-on classes equivalent to the number of missed classes, as per The Clef School's policy
  • If more than 30 days have passed since the last attended class, the student must undergo the re-enrollment process at The Clef School to continue with the course.

Make-Up Class Policy

A make-up class is an additional class provided outside the regular schedule, and it is offered at no cost.

The Clef School may arrange a make-up class under the following circumstances:

  • If a class is canceled due to teacher unavailability or technical issues arising from The Clef School's (Teacher's) end, a make-up class will be scheduled to compensate for the missed session.
  • When a student requests a reschedule, The Clef School will accommodate up to a maximum of two make-up classes for a course, inclusive of any add-on classes, in cases of absence or rescheduling.
  • ● It is essential for students to utilize the make-up class before the next scheduled session to maintain continuity in the course. All make-up classes will be arranged within the 12-week period plus any additional add-on classes, if applicable, of a batch.
  • Please note that in-campus students attending group classes at The Clef School are not eligible for make-up classes. For specific policies, kindly consult the center coordinator.

Add-On Class (Additional Class) Policy

The course curriculum is designed to cover all lesson plans within 12 classes; however, The Clef School reserves the right to recommend add-on classes to enhance the achievement of desired learning outcomes and provide a high-quality learning experience

Teachers may suggest extra one-on-one sessions for students with specific learning objectives. Students must complete these recommended one-on-one sessions before the batch is considered closed.

If a student does not purchase these add-on classes within 2 weeks of the last attended class, the Attendance Policy (see above) will be applied, leading to batch closure.

Add-on classes may be availed by:

  • Students who need or desire additional time in a course.
  • Students who have been absent for more than 2 classes.
  • Students recommended by the teacher to focus on specific concepts or compositions.

A mutually convenient time slot will be scheduled for add-on classes

If a student fails to attend a scheduled add-on class, no refunds or rescheduling of the add-on class(es) will be provided.

Failure to purchase add-on classes within 2 weeks after the last scheduled class may result in The Clef School assigning the student a different time slot than their regular class.

*Add-on classes for in-campus (offline) classes are subject to venue availability. Pricing for in-campus add-on classes will vary based on the affiliate center

Progression and Requirements at The Clef School

For students enrolling in courses beyond the beginner's level, a prerequisite assessment is mandatory. This assessment, graded by our Curriculum Head, evaluates the student's singing capability and performance. Based on the assessment results, the student is then recommended to join a specific level that aligns with their skills.

Upon successful completion of a course within a level with a passing grade, students at The Clef School are eligible to progress to the next course in their musical journey.

Daylight Saving Time Policy

Students residing in Daylight Saving Time (DST) zones will experience a change in class timings during the DST transition in their respective time zones. As part of the enrollment process for a specific course, students will have visibility into the class timings for all sessions throughout the course. It is imperative that students take note of any time transitions during the course and select batches accordingly.

Technical Requirements

Prospective students are advised to carefully review the technical requirements for taking courses at The Clef School before enrolling. Additionally, our support team will reach out to the student to conduct a test class, ensuring that the student meets all technical requirements and is well-equipped to join the course. It's important to note that technical issues are generally not considered acceptable reasons for withdrawal or refund. Upon enrollment, students will receive instructions to test the setup of their computer, webcam, and microphone. This test should be completed in the week preceding the start of the course to allow sufficient time for issue resolution. For any technical questions or issues, students can contact support@theclefschool.com

Refund Policy for Instructor-Led Courses

Once a student has enrolled in a course, the course cannot be transferred to any other individual. It is essential to initiate the course within 91 days from the chosen batch/slot date. The Clef School and the National Education Policy 2020

Insights from the National Education Policy 2020 emphasize the necessity for a transformation in pedagogy to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centered, discussion-based, flexible, and, importantly, enjoyable.

According to the policy, the arts play a significant role in imparting culture. Beyond reinforcing cultural identity and societal upliftment, the arts are acknowledged for enhancing cognitive and creative abilities, contributing to individual happiness.

Identifying the Drawbacks of Omitting Music Education in Schools

Music education is recognized for stimulating cognitive functions and fostering creativity. Its exclusion from the curriculum may limit students' cognitive and creative potential. Considering music as a powerful medium for cultural awareness, the absence of music education may contribute to a gap in understanding and appreciating diverse cultures, affecting students' cultural awareness. The lack of music education denies students the chance to explore their creative, artistic, and cultural interests, restricting the development of their unique paths and resulting in an incomplete approach to their overall development.

At The Clef School, we align with NEP 2020 by incorporating music into our curriculum. We believe it is crucial for shaping well-rounded individuals, preparing them for a diverse future. We are delighted to observe that our thoughts, planning, and design seamlessly align with NEP 2020. Our curriculum and pedagogy prioritize experiential learning and holistic education, centered around the learner. Most importantly, we are dedicated to making the subject thoroughly enjoyable for your students
